Instructions
- Wash the turnip greens thoroughly and chop them into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large pot, cook the bacon or sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the chopped turnip greens to the pot and cook for 10-15 minutes, until tender.
- Add the cooked bacon or sausage, beans (if using), and seasonings. Stir to combine.
- Simmer for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
