Description

A simple and delicious Tuna and Salmon Loaf Recipe that combines two popular fish varieties for a flavorful, nutritious meal. Packed with protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins, this loaf is perfect for a family dinner or meal prep.

  • 1 can of tuna (drained)
  • 1 can of salmon (drained)
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (whole wheat or regular)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley, dill, or other herbs for extra flavor
  • 1/2 lemon (for zest and juice)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, salmon, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed onion and garlic, lemon zest, and seasoning.
  • Mix everything together gently until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan and press it down to form a compact loaf shape.
  • Optional: Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top for a crispy, golden crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the loaf is firm and golden on top.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can make this loaf ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze it for longer storage.
  • Feel free to adjust the herbs and spices to suit your taste preferences. Adding a bit of cayenne pepper can bring some heat to the loaf.
