- 1 can of tuna (drained)
- 1 can of salmon (drained)
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs (whole wheat or regular)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh parsley, dill, or other herbs for extra flavor
- 1/2 lemon (for zest and juice)
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, salmon, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed onion and garlic, lemon zest, and seasoning.
- Mix everything together gently until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan and press it down to form a compact loaf shape.
- Optional: Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top for a crispy, golden crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the loaf is firm and golden on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can make this loaf ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze it for longer storage.
- Feel free to adjust the herbs and spices to suit your taste preferences. Adding a bit of cayenne pepper can bring some heat to the loaf.
