This stove top meatloaf recipe is a quick and flavorful way to enjoy a classic dish. Made with ground meat, breadcrumbs, and a tangy glaze, it’s moist, tender, and perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork or turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk or broth
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/3 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp mustard (for glaze)

Instructions

  • Combine ground meats, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and set aside.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a bit of oil. Place the meatloaf in the pan and sear on all sides until browned.
  • Reduce heat to low and add 1/4 cup of water or broth to the pan. Cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes, basting occasionally with the glaze.
  • For the glaze, mix ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a small bowl. Brush over the meatloaf during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour.
  • You can substitute the glaze ingredients with barbecue sauce for a different flavor.
