Description
This Philly cheesesteak bread recipe is a delicious and easy way to enjoy the classic Philly cheesesteak in a new form. Stuffed with tender steak, melted cheese, and sautéed onions, it’s perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 hoagie rolls (or sub rolls)
- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Cheez Whiz (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Slice the hoagie rolls and hollow out the center, leaving enough bread to hold the filling.
- Stuff each roll with the cooked steak, onions, and shredded provolone cheese. If desired, add Cheez Whiz for extra cheesiness.
- Place the stuffed rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute provolone cheese with mozzarella or cheddar.
- For extra flavor, add sautéed peppers or mushrooms.
