Cupcake Batter
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
Surprise Filling
- 1 cup pink or blue frosting (or candies)
Frosting and Decorations
- 2 cups vanilla buttercream frosting
- Sprinkles or edible decorations (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
- Bake the Cupcakes: Divide the batter evenly into liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Add the Filling: Hollow out the center of each cupcake with a knife or corer. Fill with pink or blue frosting. Replace the removed top piece.
- Decorate: Frost the cupcakes with buttercream and add sprinkles or themed decorations.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant pink or blue frosting.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- For a natural filling, use raspberry (pink) or blueberry (blue) puree.
