Description

This easy burger bowl recipe is a fresh, healthy twist on a traditional burger. Packed with lean protein, crisp veggies, and a savory sauce, it’s perfect for meal prep or a quick, satisfying lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based option)
  • 4 cups mixed greens (e.g., spinach, arugula, romaine)
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp burger sauce or dressing of choice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Cook the protein: Season the ground beef (or your choice of protein) with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart into crumbles until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to rest.
  • Prepare the greens: Wash and dry the mixed greens thoroughly. Place in a large bowl as the base for the burger bowl.
  • Slice the veggies: Slice the tomato, cucumber, red onion, and avocado. Add them to the bowl on top of the greens.
  • Assemble the bowl: Add the cooked protein to the bowl, placing it on top of the veggies. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, if using.
  • Add toppings: Garnish with pickles, avocado, and any other desired toppings. Drizzle with your preferred sauce or dressing.
  • Serve: Toss everything gently to combine or serve as layers for a visually appealing meal. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a low-carb version, skip the cheese and use a sugar-free dressing.
  • You can use grilled chicken or a plant-based patty for a different protein source.
  • Make it spicy by adding jalapeños or a spicy mayo sauce.
