Description

Learn how to cook the perfect branzino fillet, whether pan-seared, grilled, or baked. This light and flavorful fish dish pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or a light salad for a healthy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 branzino fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for basting)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat a pan over medium-high heat for pan-searing.
  • Drizzle the branzino fillets with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon zest.
  • In a hot pan, cook the fillets skin-side down for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • If baking, place the fillets on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets before serving, and garnish with fresh parsley and thyme. Serve with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • If you prefer a crispy skin, make sure to cook the fillets skin-side down first.
  • You can also grill branzino fillets by cooking them for 3-4 minutes per side over medium heat.
  • Branzino fillet can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
